Stewardship

Stewardship is a phrase we use often here at Hope of Glory Ministries. Many times this term can cause an extensive amount of questioning, leading one to first ask “What exactly is stewardship?”

Simply put, stewardship refers to our practical obedience in the management of everything under our control, everything entrusted to us. The biblical doctrine of stewardship teaches us that everything started with, belongs to, and is intended to glorify the Creator, God.

Therefore, if God is the creator of all creation, he is the owner, and in His love, He has graciously given us the privilege to manage what he owns, His creation.

We see this clearly in Genesis 1, as God speaks into existence this wonderful creation, then petitions man to actively manage all he has been given.

“So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:27-28

From the Beginning

From the beginning, God has made man His co-worker in administering all aspects of our life. All aspects of our life? Yes, and by this, He means all; our bodies, time, family, finances, gifts, commitments, and resources.

The scriptures are full of wisdom on how to manage all things in a way that glorifies God, benefits others, and grows His kingdom. This wisdom is what we hope to bestow on the families we serve, teaching them God’s intent for His people, and how to become a steward of all His good gifts.

Through our Community Co-op Program, families are challenged to see all of life differently, as God initiated and intended it to be. The word of God coupled with regular accountability and responsibility is a powerful platform towards spiritual and financial stability. This pushes them to confront their present situation, reflect on sinful habits, and in humility, learn a better way.

When families begin to truly believe that God has lavished all things upon them, they receive and manage those things with diligence, thought, and a desire to benefit others around them. This is a beautiful picture of God’s heart for His world and His people as He fulfills His plan to redeem all things!

Will you continue to pray for us as we encourage others to flourish and biblically steward everything God has graciously given to them? Would you consider stewarding of your time, talents or treasures towards our empowerment program? Please contact me directly so that we can schedule a time to discuss your involvement.

Thankful for each of you!
