Dear Friends,

The staff at Hope of Glory Ministries would like to thank you for supporting us in our 5th Annual Select Bank and Trust Good Samaritan 5K and 1 Mile Family Walk. Your generosity in giving and serving was a blessing to our staff and the many families we serve. We raised over $24,000 after expenses that will help us in our mission to feed the hungry, clothe the needy, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout our community!

On race day, we had over 155 participants between the 5K run and the 1 mile walk. We enjoyed a beautiful day and were encouraged by the many people who came out to support this event. We have been very blessed even during a challenging economy. We are truly grateful! We had a day of fun and fellowship with friends, both new and old! This event was accomplished by God’s grace and the hard work of our staff and many volunteers, and your willingness to sponsor us.

We have included our race map which lists all of our sponsors who gave at various levels. You can view the race pictures by going to our website listed at the bottom of the map. Many businesses contributed gifts for prize drawings at our Moe’s Post Race Party. The value of these gifts-in-kind prizes is estimated at over $9,500. Also on race day, anyone that brought two non-perishable food items for our Resource Center was entered in a drawing for additional prizes.

Although we had a few obstacles to overcome this year, we can honestly say that this event was largely a success. We are always open to suggestions and feedback from our sponsors, participants and volunteers. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have something to share. We believe that this event will grow each year, so please help us spread the word!

Sincerely, Clark Stallings Executive Director

Mission Statement
We are a Christ-centered community outreach ministry committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship and the distribution of food, clothes, hygiene products and household items to those in need throughout Pitt County.

Current Efforts
Food Drive.... Please help us feed families in need! A few churches are currently holding food drives for us so that we can keep our food pantry well stocked. The demand for our services is increasing significantly due to the difficult economic climate.

This is creating tremendous opportunities for us to demonstrate the love of God in a very practical way and share the gospel with many people as we help them with life's basic necessities. Here are some suggested meal options if you can help us with a gift of food items:

  • Spaghetti/pasta and sauce
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned soups and crackers
  • Pancake mix and syrup
  • Instant oatmeal and canned fruit
  • Cereal/snack bars

Because of your generosity a family can have a meal today. God bless you!
